GALWAY BAND ‘NEWDAD’ RELEASE NEW EP ‘SAFE’ OUT NOW!

NEWDAD RELEASE ‘SAFE’ EP ON MAY 2

LISTEN HERE

LIVE SHOW AT THE DOME ON MAY 14

The beauty and bite of NewDad’s debut album ‘Madra’ made the Galway band one of the biggest new hopes around. Bringing a youthful zest to storied influences such as Slowdive, The Cure and Cocteau Twins, their amalgamation of classic ‘90s aesthetics attracted a diverse and still-growing audience. Teenagers threw themselves around in the mosh pit with care-free abandon at their headline show at London’s Koko, Glastonbury, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, and even at places as far flung as Tokyo and Shanghai in front of 1600 fans.

And NewDad’s future is now just a step away as they release their new EP ‘Safe’. Their core shoegaze/dream-pop sound elevated with a swaggering new self-confidence, a tight, masterly control of hooks, and broader touch points such as Pavement and Sonic Youth. In short: their ethereal elements feel more alluring than ever; the visceral moments are more selective and dynamic but hit just as hard; and their songs are simply a leap in sophistication beyond ‘Madra’.

As summarised by Fiachra, “It just needed to be NewDad but better. Everything had to get elevated,” while guitarist Sean O’Dowd states that the songs are “Big and bold, but with a light sense and kind of airier.” Julie expands, noting a balance between finding those nuanced details that reward repeat listens while keeping their visceral raw power. “There’s so much intricacy but they’re just so much fun to play.”

‘Safe’ marks a bold step forward for the band as they move beyond their long-standing collaboration with Chris W Ryan to work with 26-year-old prodigy Sam Breathwick, aka Shrink — one of the UK’s most talked-about young producers. In the short term, Shrink is also joining the live lineup, bringing his studio magic to the stage on lead guitar and synths, as NewDad expand their ambitious sound and reach toward a growing international audience.

Following the success of Madra—an album whose songs were written over an impressive eight-year span but recorded in just a fortnight—their latest ‘Safe’ EP project showcases a much swifter process. Recorded in January at the renowned Decoy Studios, this new record captures the same intensity and focus within a similarly condensed time frame.

Its lead single, ‘Entertainer’, encapsulates their growth. Julie’s vocal glides like a conversation with an imaginary friend, while every touch – her slacker rock cadence, distorted stabs of guitars, foreboding synth flourishes and drums which flow from spacious to savage – embeds itself in your mind and refuses to let go.

“The song is about entertaining other people’s idea of who you should be,” explains Julie. “I’m only learning now that I just need to shut out the noise and do what makes me feel comfortable.”

In fact, the entire EP rotates around similar introspective conflicts: being a people pleaser but standing up for yourself; realising that success brings a fresh wave of unexpected challenges, adapting to their new lives in an often overwhelming London. But musically it shows that NewDad should have no fears as whatever they can imagine they can thrillingly bring to life.

It’s a trait present as the title track erupts into a fierce denouement. It’s there as Fiachra’s personal favourite, ‘Puzzle’, lurches into a seasick grunge waltz with lyrics inspired by Norman Mailer’s ‘The Executioner’s Song’. And it’s especially there with the affecting string arrangement on ‘Be Kind’ – something that Sean affirms that they would’ve have previously recreated using synths.

NewDad’s transition from ‘Madra’ to ‘Safe’ felt symbolically complete when they attended the Choice Music Awards after being nominated for Album of the Year.

Talking of which, album number two is firmly in development but they’re keeping their cards close to their chest regarding its finer details… for now.  “The album will be another step up,” offers Julie, “It’s a lot more unapologetic and a lot more self assured”

Ed Sheeran has announced that his new album ‘PLAY’ will be released on 12th September 2025. (Pre-order here).
To mark the occasion he has released a new single ‘Old Phone’  (Listen here).

After closing the chapter on his Mathematics series, Ed Sheeran is finally back and stepping boldly into a fresh new phase for 2025.   An artist known for constantly evolving, Sheeran’s latest album, ‘PLAY’ finds him exploring new musical ground through collaboration with producers and musicians from around the world, as well as diving deeper into the timeless sounds and themes that have made him one of the world’s best-loved pop artists. Inspired in part by his exposure to Indian and Persian musical cultures—and their surprising connections to the Irish folk tradition he grew up with, through shared scales, rhythms, and melodies—he explored this borderless musical language, giving the album its distinctive, fresh edge. On more familiar ground, Sheeran also reminds us why he remains the most influential singer-songwriter of his generation, delivering a series of stunning ballads and acoustic-driven songs. The result is a collection that plays with both the familiar and the new, creating a bold, pop-driven sound that only Ed Sheeran could deliver — a vibrant showcase of his artistry that feels both exciting and transformative, and promises to be one of the defining albums of the year.

Ed said…”Play was an album that was made as a direct response to the darkest period of my life. Coming out of all of that I just wanted to create joy and technicolour, and explore cultures in the countries I was touring. I made this record all over the world, finished it in Goa, India, and had some of the most fun, explorative creative days of my life. It’s a real rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish, it encapsulates everything that I love about music, and the fun in it, but also where I am in life as a human, a partner, a father. Going into this album campaign I said to myself ‘I just want everything I do to be fun and playful’ – so that’s why we are building pubs for folk jams, doing gigs on open top buses and singing in pink cowboy hats on bars. The older I get the more I just want to enjoy things, and savour the moments that are mad and chaotic. You can preorder play now, many many more playful things to come before it’s out x”

After the release of his global, hedonistic, technicolor pop hit ’Azizam’, Sheeran gets nostalgic on his brand new single ‘Old Phone’, narrating the disorienting act of reconnecting with his past. Powering up an old phone unused since 2015, he unearths messages from a lost friend, an argument with an ex, and distant family, highlighting how time and separation reshape identity. Blending nostalgic acoustic melodies with raw emotion, the song recalls Ed’s early songwriting roots while exploring growth and memory, capturing an artist that is shaped and transformed by his past   ‘Old Phone’ has been produced by Blake Slatkin & Ilya Salmanzadeh

BEA AND HER BUSINESS SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘RICH’

BEA AND HER BUSINESS

SHARES THE NEW SINGLE ‘RICH’

LISTEN/WATCH HERE

ON TOUR WITH MXMTOON THIS MONTH – INCLUDES A DUBLIN SHOW AT THE ACADEMY

“The 20-year-old riser has a potent pop vision.” – Clash

“Bea’s rise is rooted in a love for poetry and a knack for turning personal experiences into music that resonates on a profound level.” – Notion

“Every note she sings, every lyric she writes, is a step closer to that dream of massive stadium pop.” – Dork

“Lush vocals, pristine production and heartfelt, relatable lyricism.” – 1883 Magazine

Bea and her Business continues to cement her status as the UK’s next breakthrough pop icon as she shares her new single ‘Rich’.

Set to an addictive distorted beat, ‘Rich’ is a swaggeringly self-confident girl-next-door anthem for being determined to be yourself – regardless of what anyone else thinks. Co-written with Steve Mac, Bea’s distinctive powerful vocal takes centre stage as she lyrically asserts that she can give-or-take the decadence and disarray of the party scene, just so long as she’s got her friends around her.

With over 125 million streams and views to date Bea is already building a deep personal connection with a huge audience, while industry acclaim in 2025 alone has included Amazon’s Artists To Watch, being named as a Shazam Fast Forward Artist, and earning a nomination for MTV Push for the UK and Ireland.

.

Bea says, “’Rich’ describes the feeling of longing for freedom, fun and chaos. It’s about getting out of the house, breaking a sweat, acting your age and a reminder to stop taking life so seriously. It nods to the importance of the work life balance and the idea that letting your hair down is just as important as working your ass off !”

A growing fanbase is falling under Bea’s spell and it’s easy to see why. Her songs tackle the universal experiences of teen and young adulthood, from dubious friendships and even worse relationships to mental health struggles and self-image issues. And as the likes of ‘Born To Be Alive’, ‘Safety Net’ and ‘Me Against My Head’ have shown, not only do her lyrics give fans a comforting, relatable take on such struggles, but her dark humour also provides an escape too.

Her two EPs to date, 2023’s ‘Introverted Extrovert’ and last year’s ‘Me Vs. Me’, have seen Bea and her Business push forwards on all fronts. Expect her brand of larger-than-life pop and witty, real-life observations to connect with new international audiences as 2025 unfolds.

Having sold-out a headline show at KOKO and further gigs across Europe and North America, Bea and her Business’s touring plans for 2025 are now heating up. This month will see her tour across the UK and Europe as special guest to bedroom pop icon mxmtoon, including a London show at Heaven on May 24th. Bea is also confirmed to tour Australia as special guests to The Wombats in September / October. ED SHEERAN RELEASES NEW SINGLE ‘AZIZAM’ OUT NOW! A RETURN TO JOY, TO LIGHT, TO LOVE AND TO FUN!

ED SHEERAN ANNOUNCES BRAND NEW SINGLE ‘AZIZAM’’

RELEASED ON 4TH APRIL 2025

LISTEN HERE / WATCH HERE

Ed Sheeran presses play on a new era with the release of his new single ‘Azizam’ on 4th April 2025. Available on CD, 7” and DSPs  LISTEN / PURCHASE HERE / WATCH HERE

Get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of “Azizam”.  A Persian term of endearment that means “my dear” or “my beloved,” Ed’s new song is a return to joy, to light, to love and to fun!

“Azizam”  began as a meeting of minds in the studio with Swedish/Iranian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh (Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, Ellie Goudling, Sam Smith). Driven by Ed’s relentless curiosity they soon realised how much Persian and Irish folk music have in common and how only Ed could set those influences in a pop context. The result is a hedonistic technicolor call to action to live the moment “in between the dancing lights” on the dancefloor until the Sun rises. A celebration of cross-cultural collaborations brought to life, this rhythmic pop song is about the universality of emotion.

Ed said…“Even though it’s completely different to anything that I’ve ever done before, Azizam feels familiar to me. I wanted to create a party atmosphere in a song and Ilya Salmanzadeh, who I worked with on the track, helped bring that to life. He was so inspiring to work with.”

In the video accompanying the single release, Ed embarks on a journey across the US and UK with a pink, heart-shaped balloon in tow. He takes in the sights of New York from an iconic yellow taxi, cruises through Los Angeles in a classic open-top car, and braves the elements in rural Massachusetts. Along the way, he leads a street party in New Orleans and makes stops in Boston and Nashville. And, of course, no trip would be complete without a visit to his beloved Ipswich Town FC. Watch Here

After closing the chapter on his Mathematics era, Ed Sheeran is finally back and stepping boldly into a fresh new phase for 2025. An artist who has continuously pushed himself, and his craft, into new territory, Sheeran has collaborated with producers and writers from across the globe on his upcoming album, which promises to be one of the years defining pop records (details of which will be released soon).

LINKIN PARK wrote and recorded “Up From The Bottom” in between segments of their massive From Zero World Tour. Harnessing the energy of their 2024 live re-emergence, the track’s decisive piano refrain, distorted riffs, and propulsive drums lay the foundation for the singular vocal duo of Emily Armstrong and Mike Shinoda, singing “You keep me waiting down here so far below, staring up from the bottom, up from the bottom.” The song climaxes with a surprising bridge of turntable scratches, 808s, and one of Shinoda’s most memorable rap verses–evoking their signature genre alchemy spiked with a rush of fresh inspiration.

This bevy of excitement paves the way for the FROM ZERO (DELUXE EDITION). About the new collection, Shinoda said, “We are so grateful for the incredible reception to From Zero. This new chapter, our continuing journey, and the connection between the band and fans has been more than we could’ve hoped for. Thank you for listening.”

Among the Deluxe Edition’s brand new material, “Let You Fade” is sure to be a fan favorite, with its crushing guitars, brutal drums, and full-hearted lyrics. The third track, “Unshatter,” came to life early in the FROM ZERO recording process, with Armstrong’s vocal fireworks mid-song hinting at “what was possible together,” as the band says.

This winter, LINKIN PARK ignited their massive From Zero World Tour with epic and unforgettable shows everywhere from Mexico to Tokyo, Jakarta, and beyond. Throughout 2025, the From Zero World Tour—produced by Live Nation—will see the band touch down on four continents. This massive global jaunt carries them through to the end of the year, concluding on November 11 in Brasilia, Brazil. MONCRIEFF RELEASES NEW SONG ‘SHANGRI-LA’

Moncrieff Releases New Song Shangri-La

Award-winning Irish singer Moncrieff releases the latest track from his hotly anticipated debut album, Maybe It’s Fine.

Stream ‘Shangri-La’

Pre-order Maybe It’s Fine

March 28 – Today, Moncrieff unveils his new single Shangri-La. A euphoric burst of sun-kissed pop, the track is the latest song to be taken from the award-winning singer’s debut album, Maybe It’s Fine, due out on May 9 via Warner Music Central Europe and available to pre-order HERE.

Shangri-La follows Hard Feelings, How It Ends and I Just Don’t Think I’ll Make It Over You as our first tastes of Maybe It’s Fine, a record whose breadth of sounds, styles and ways of storytelling showcases the remarkable evolution of Moncrieff as an artist since he first broke through almost a decade ago. It’s a journey which has seen him win over fans including Elton John and late DJ/producer Avicii, clock up over 40 million streams and win the prestigious RTÉ Choice Music Prize for his 2022 track Warm.

Possibly Moncrieff’s most uplifting track to date, Shangri-La’s joyous collision of beats, melody and spangled synthesiser lines reflects the carefree recklessness in his lyrics: conjuring up images of heady endless nights and giddy, boundless freedom.

“It’s one of the few songs on the album that isn’t purely narrative-based. There is a story, but it’s more of a feeling. And the feeling is being intoxicated,” says Moncrieff of the track.

“It’s about two people becoming so recklessly infatuated with each other that in the moment, it feels like they’re on drugs. I was seeing this person, and I knew deep down that it was never going to end well but it was just so much fun being with them. They were so charismatic, gorgeous… seriously good craic. I was totally taken in but looking back now there were some serious red flags. The song encapsulates all the best parts of that experience and that person while also wilfully ignoring everything else. That pure, carefree feeling is so enticing. It’s only when you come down that you realise it’s something else!”

Though it might be Moncrieff’s debut album, Maybe It’s Fine is a document of his journey through adulthood. Its twelve songs find him charting and surveying his own growth, both as musician and a person. From the struggling songwriter making a break from Ireland to London while still reeling from the loss of his siblings when he was a teenager, to the multifaceted, genre-straddling artist of today.

“I started this journey into music ten years ago. There’s been literally thousands of stories and ideas since and trying to condense it into twelve songs was difficult,” says Moncrieff. “In that time, I’ve been countless different versions of myself. This album is the story of that growth. Where I’ve come from, where I am and where I’m going.

Shangri-La is available on all major platforms via Warner Music Central Europe. Maybe It’s Fine is available to pre-order now.
