22 March 2024 – Dublin alt-pop artist Valerie Rose is back with her first single of the year “Wishes”, out now via Diffusion Lab. Listen/stream HERE.

Speaking about “Wishes”, Valerie explains “it’s a song about being repeatedly disappointed after trying to keep hopeful. It’s a fun song to scream when you’re trying to let things go!”

“Wishes” lyrically depicts the feeling of feeling let down by a person that you desperately want to believe in. It’s only after a moment of reflection that you realise that your connection with that person is one sided and they do not care about what’s already theirs. “You’ve got it all / But you don’t see clear.” Prior to writing the song, Valerie’s friend said the words “wasted wishes” after which, she began asking herself hypothetical questions and sculpted the narrative.

Valerie worked on this track with past collaborators songwriter Lauryn Gaffney and producer Chris Bubenzer aka Benza. “Writing the song was such a fun experience”, says Valerie. “When Chris thought of the bassline, Lauryn and I just knew it was going to be a blast writing this song. Everything just flowed out of us all.”

About Valerie Rose

Valerie Rose is a 19-year-old alt-pop singer-songwriter from Dublin. The multi-instrumentalist has been working closely with Diffusion Lab, a record label and management company situated in Dublin’s The Playground, for the past two years. In late 2022, Valerie made her breakthrough onto the Irish music scene with her debut single “My Head”. She’s experienced an explosive inception to her music career so far. Over the past 18 months, Valerie’s music has caught the attention of tastemakers in both Ireland and overseas. “My Head” peaked at #18 on the Irish Homegrown Chart, and received airplay support from many radio stations across the country including TodayFM, 2FM, SPIN and FM104 to cite just a few. Two of her singles “My Head” and “Rip My Calendar” have been featured in episodes of the award-winning E4 reality television show Made In Chelsea.

Valerie’s music has also appeared on various popular Spotify playlists including New Music Friday, Alternative Ireland, Our Generation, Breath of Fresh Eire and Shockwave, and also on the BBC Sounds “Where Music Matters” playlist last year. Most recently, Valerie was named as one of the Irish Independent’s “Ones To Watch For 2024.”

Valerie is currently in her first year at BIMM Music Institute Dublin, studying music. It has always felt so confidently optimistic to me, and that honesty and attitude is a feeling I took into my recording sessions.”

Dua worked with a team of core collaborators throughout the project including Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr. and Kevin Parker.

Earlier this month, Dua opened up the BRIT Awards with an electric performance of “Training Season” and subsequently took home her 7th BRIT Award for Best Pop Act. She also opened up the GRAMMY Awards this year, where she performed a medley of “Training Season,” “Dance The Night” and “Houdini.” Dua recently became the first female artist to have four songs each with over two billion streams on Spotify (“One Kiss,” “Don’t Start Now,” “New Rules” and “Levitating”).

When rumours first circulated of a possible collaboration between Liam Gallagher and John Squire, the question on everybody’s lips was: what would it sound like? And when they launched the project with ‘Just Another Rainbow’ and then ‘Mars To Liverpool’, the answer was satisfyingly simple: exactly like what you’d want it to sound like. Now the duo more than live up to expectations as they release their self-titled debut album.

The album’s opening track ‘Raise Your Hands’ is an immediate statement of intent. A stomping glam-rock moment that Liam has compared to Roxy Music with a little Stonesy piano for good measure, it surges with an unrestrained energy that sounds as natural and liberated as if they had just stepped on stage. And as an opening one-two with ‘Mars To Liverpool’ its clear that the pair have put their full passion into the set.

That vibrancy remains consistent throughout, whether they’re exploring melancholy moments that reflect some of Oasis and Liam’s solo slowburners (‘One Day At A Time’) or chiming melodies that echo early Stone Roses (‘Just Another Rainbow’), while John’s maelstrom of riffs and fluid leads at times feel like a natural succession to ‘Second Coming’ (especially ‘Love You Forever’). Yet it also simmers with flashes of their key ‘60s and ‘70s influences too: a dash of Sex Pistols power with some Hendrix flair and a touch of The Faces’ swaggering rock ‘n’ roll.

The album sessions were completed with the assistance of Liam’s regular producer Greg Kurstin, who also performed bass, and drummer Joey Waronker (Beck, R.E.M., Atoms For Peace).

February 23, 2024 (Los Angeles, CA) – Assembling an essential collection of generational anthems, LINKIN PARK will present their first-ever career-spanning greatest hits album entitled Papercuts (Singles Collection 2000-2023) on April 12TH via Warner Records.

The fan enthusiasm and fervor for both Hybrid Theory (20TH Anniversary Edition) in 2020 and Meteora (20TH Anniversary Edition) last year ultimately inspired the band to curate and carefully piece together what would become Papercuts. It offers a comprehensive retrospective of their journey so far in the span of one album highlighted by everything from “Crawling” and “Somewhere I Belong” to the sought-after rarity “QWERTY.”

In addition to the classics, LINKIN PARK uncovered the never-before-released track “Friendly Fire.” Recorded during the 2017 sessions for their seventh album One More Light, it features a powerhouse vocal performance from the late Chester Bennington. The video was directed and edited by long-time collaborator Mark Fiore and features never-before-seen studio and live footage – watch HERE. Cinematic keys and a delicate beat underline emotionally charged verses as humming guitar uplifts the introspective chorus, “We’re pulling apart for no reason, we’re pulling a trigger in a useless war…what are we fighting for.” It embodies the style, soul, and spirit of classic LP.

About “Friendly Fire” Brad Delson added, “‘Friendly Fire’ was always one of our favorite songs from the One More Light sessions. Something about it wasn’t quite right so as close as it got to the finish line, we chose to set it aside for later. When we started looking for an unreleased track to include on our greatest hits collection, I was blown away by the power of the song, the power of the storytelling, the power of the vocal, the sonic landscape and I actually thought that it was closer than maybe we had realized at the time.

We got together to work on it and connect some of the missing pieces that for whatever reason hadn’t revealed themselves during the recording of One More Light. I can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s such a beautiful, compelling, heartbreaking, hopeful story and it really resonates with me today.”

Today Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra have released the exquisite Swing Fever – a 13-track sparkling salute to the timeless songs of the big band years, reignited by two true giants of their craft.For the first time, Britain’s new partners in swing have united on record to share their peerless dexterity on a tribute to such truly great songs as ‘Ain’t Misbehavin’, ‘Almost Like Being In Love’, ‘Pennies From Heaven’ and ‘Lullaby Of Broadway’.

Having already appeared on The One Show, as well as turning in stunning performances for Radio 2’s Piano Room this week, excitement for the record has hit fever pitch. This weekend will also see a performance on Dancing on Ice on Sunday, ITV1 at 18:30.

Ghetts proudly presents his forthcoming album, On Purpose, With Purpose. Set for release on 23rd February and arriving three years after Ghetts’ last album – the epic Conflict Of Interest – this new record continues the evolution and unstoppable rise of one of the UK’s greatest rappers.

Ghetts sounds sharper, more unflinchingly honest and boldly confident and than ever before, and is joined by several guests, including; Sampha, Kano, Wretch 32, Skrapz, Unknown T, Lancey Foux, Pip Millett, Tiggs da Author and Moonchild Sanelly.

As well as achieving new heights as a songwriter and rapper, On Purpose, With Purpose finds Ghetts expanding his sonic palette by reaching out beyond rap and incorporating elements of wider musical influences such as soul (Double Standards), R&B (Mine), gospel (Hallelujah), Afrobeats and amapiano (Gbedu, Blessings, Tumbi).

Born Justin Clarke and raised in Newham, East London, Ghetts combines razor-sharp, crystal-clear rhymes with smart humour and creative, intelligent wordplay.  In 2005, following his release from prison, he released debut mixtape, 2000 & Life. Since then he’s gone on to release 5 further mixtapes, 3 studio albums, various blazing freestyles, and continues to improve with each offering.  Ghetts’ previous album, Conflict Of Interest, marked a paradigm shift in his career receiving near-universal acclaim, reaching #2 on the Official UK Albums Chart, and earning Brit Award, Mercury Music Prize and NME Award nominations; plus DJ mag Best Of British and most recently the 2024 MOBO Pioneer Award.
