Today, Ed Sheeran releases his brand-new album Play (listen here). To celebrate the release, he has dropped the official video for his new single “Camera”, starring Phoebe Dynevor (watch here).

Ed Sheeran’s epic new single “Camera” — co-produced by ILYA (Ariana Grande, Camila Cabello), Andrew Watt (Post Malone) and Louis Bell (Justin Bieber)— reinforces Sheeran’s mastery of balladry and lyrical depth. Inspired by his wife Cherry, the track exudes reverence and serves as a celebration of deep connection. Directed by longtime collaborator Emil Nava, the official music video – starring Sheeran alongside Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor – portrays the early stages of a romantic relationship. Shot entirely on iPhone from the characters’ perspectives, the video depicts the raw spontaneity and thrill of new love as they explore Croatia’s picturesque Old Town, cruise on a moped, bar-hop into the night, and even share the stage at one of Sheeran’s stadium shows.

Today, Ed Sheeran releases his new album, Play. After closing the chapter on his Mathematics series, Sheeran is stepping boldly into a fresh new phase for 2025. An artist who is constantly evolving, Play finds Sheeran exploring new musical ground through collaboration with producers and musicians from across the globe, as well as diving deeper into the timeless sounds and themes that have made him one of the world’s best-loved pop artists. Inspired in part by his exposure to Indian and Persian musical cultures – and their surprising connections to the Irish folk tradition he grew up with through shared scales, rhythms, and melodies – he has explored a borderless musical language that has given the album a fresh, distinctive edge. On more familiar ground, Sheeran reminds us why he remains one of the most influential singer-songwriters of his generation, as he delivers a series of tracks that speak to his wholehearted balladry. The result is a collection that plays with both the familiar and new, creating an exciting bold, pop-driven sound that feels transformative.  

Tonight, Friday 12 September at 5pm BST, Ed Sheeran will head to NPR’s offices for a special live-streamed Tiny Desk performance, where he’ll play a selection of new music on his loop station in the first-ever live-streamed Tiny Desk concert of this scale. Fans can tune in here.

ED SHEERAN RELEASES HEARTFELT MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW SINGLE “OLD PHONE”

Multiple-GRAMMY winning, Diamond-certified, global superstar Ed Sheeran has unveiled the official music video for his recently released single ‘Old Phone.’ Watch HERE . ‘Old Phone’ is the second song – following lead single ‘Azizam’ – that Sheeran has shared from his forthcoming album ‘Play’, arriving everywhere via Gingerbread Man Records/Atlantic Records on September 12th and available for pre-order now. Directed by Emil Nava, the ‘Old Phone’ music video is a touching tribute to the beauty of connection and memory. In a heartfelt introduction, Ed talks about the background to the song, delving into the bittersweet memories evoked by rediscovering an old phone, unearthing text messages and photos from cherished moments with people who are no longer here.   
 
To bring the song to life, Ed conceived the idea of building the Old Phone Pub in Ipswich, Massachusetts, creating a space to connect with his fans and their stories. As Ed puts it, “ I thought I’d build a pub somewhere, and do a gig, and I put it out there to my fans, and said do you want to come to this gig, go on your old phone and find a message that means a lot to you, or a video that means a lot to you”
 
The video artfully weaves together moments of Ed reflecting on his own memories —with scenes of the Old Phone pub’s construction. Fans are introduced to the heartfelt community spirit as Ed interacts with locals, practices for the gig, and hears personal stories from attendees…from a fan’s video of her two young daughters playing, to a clip of friends enjoying the snow after a breakup, or a poignant memory of dancing with a grandmother who has since passed, each story shared by fans becomes a testament to the emotional power of memory and music. The climax of the video showcases an intimate live performance at the Old Phone Pub.    
 
Ahead of the song’s release last week, Sheeran announced the arrival of ‘Old Phone’ by launching @teddysoldphone, an Instagram account featuring never before seen photos from Ed’s actual old phone, which he stopped using in 2015, before moving solely to email. Ed has been teasing the track over the past few weeks, including an impromptu performance of the song on the Tonight Show couch while chatting with Jimmy Fallon, as part of his set at his pop up pub during Coachella, and most recently playing it as a duet with Noah Kahan at Santa’s Pub in Nashville. Ed was recently featured on the cover of this year’s TIME100 as one of the world’s most influential people.

Get ready to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of “Azizam”.  A Persian term of endearment that means “my dear” or “my beloved,” Ed’s new song is a return to joy, to light, to love and to fun!

“Azizam”  began as a meeting of minds in the studio with Swedish/Iranian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh (Ariana Grande, Charli XCX, Ellie Goudling, Sam Smith). Driven by Ed’s relentless curiosity they soon realised how much Persian and Irish folk music have in common and how only Ed could set those influences in a pop context. The result is a hedonistic technicolor call to action to live the moment “in between the dancing lights” on the dancefloor until the Sun rises. A celebration of cross-cultural collaborations brought to life, this rhythmic pop song is about the universality of emotion.

Ed said…“Even though it’s completely different to anything that I’ve ever done before, Azizam feels familiar to me. I wanted to create a party atmosphere in a song and Ilya Salmanzadeh, who I worked with on the track, helped bring that to life. He was so inspiring to work with.”

In the video accompanying the single release, Ed embarks on a journey across the US and UK with a pink, heart-shaped balloon in tow. He takes in the sights of New York from an iconic yellow taxi, cruises through Los Angeles in a classic open-top car, and braves the elements in rural Massachusetts. Along the way, he leads a street party in New Orleans and makes stops in Boston and Nashville. And, of course, no trip would be complete without a visit to his beloved Ipswich Town FC. Watch Here

After closing the chapter on his Mathematics era, Ed Sheeran is finally back and stepping boldly into a fresh new phase for 2025. An artist who has continuously pushed himself, and his craft, into new territory, Sheeran has collaborated with producers and writers from across the globe on his upcoming album, which promises to be one of the years defining pop records (details of which will be released soon).

Global superstar Ed Sheeran releases his ‘+-=÷× (TOUR COLLECTION)’ today.  The collection brings together some of Ed Sheeran’s biggest songs to date from his decade-spanning mathematical album era.  It is available on CD, 2xLP (Bright Blue vinyl), Download and streaming partners.  The physical formats will include access to exclusive voice notes from Sheeran. A brand new selection of related merchandise will also be available. Fans can order/download//stream the album HERE. 

In support of the ‘+-=÷× (TOUR COLLECTION)’, Sheeran has been dropping a series of special performance videos highlighting some of his most popular songs…“Tenerife Sea”, ‘Castle On The Hill’, ‘Dive’ and ‘Lego House’.

Ed Sheeran is an era-defining artist who has sold nearly 200 million records across the globe, and was recently celebrated as a 12-time member of Spotify’s Billions Club after his song “The A Team” surpassed 1 Billion streams on the platform.  After starting his record-breaking Mathematics Tour in Dublin back in 2022, Sheeran has taken his blockbuster show all over the globe with an astonishing total of 134 performances under his belt so far.   Sheeran has announced another run of European shows for 2025 which will form part of the final leg of his Mathematics tour, all while continuing to break records and make history.
