Metal legend’s mobile RPG game available in iOS and Android stores now!

The wait is over! Metal and RPG gaming fans can now download Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, the action-packed, free-to-play mobile game where players take on the role of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie. Available from today for iOS and Android devices, the teams at Nodding Frog, 50cc Games and Roadhouse Interactive have created a new and unique gaming experience in close collaboration with the band and its management team, Phantom Music Management.

The game is set in a visually stunning universe, comprised of an ever expanding series of worlds derived from Iron Maiden’s music and art. Fans of the band and RPG gamers alike will battle and strategize as Eddie and his allies. In Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, players control Eddie’s destiny across a spectacularly diverse array of worlds by traveling through time in captivating 3D environments. Eddie appears in many forms, each a part of Iron Maiden’s rich history, and each with a set of special powers and abilities.

Players will amass an army of powerful allies to battle alongside Eddie and face the onslaught of foes hell-bent on destroying him. Legions of unrelenting enemies are commanded by the Agents of Control, including The Beast, The Wicker Man, Horus and The Axis General, all drawn from the expansive catalogue of Maiden’s albums and artwork.

The game offers over 40 different Talisman sets to choose from, which all add to characters’ vital abilities. With each battle, players will evolve their armies, take on ever-increasing challenges to reclaim the facets of Eddie’s soul, and ultimately defeat the Agents of Control.

Grouplove first came together in 2009 and were quickly hailed for their standout live performances, both as headliners and at such international festivals as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, Reading + Leeds Festivals, and Glastonbury.  A year after releasing a self-titled EP in 2010, the band returned with their debut full length “NEVER TRUST A HAPPY SONG” featuring a trio of breakout singles – “Colours,” “Itchin’ On A Photograph,” and  the RIAA-certified platinum hit “Tongue Tied” which spent 3 consecutive weeks at #1 on the Alternative radio chart. The quintet’s second full length album – 2013’s “SPREADING RUMOURS” – was met with a raft of acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly, Los Angeles Times, NYLON, and National Public Radio who called it “ludicrously easy to love.”  As with all of Grouplove’s recorded material, the collection was produced by the band’s own Ryan Rabin, and was highlighted by singles “Ways To Go” and “Shark Attack.”  In 2014, Grouplove contributed the original song “Let Me In” to  “The Fault in Our Stars – Music From the Motion Picture,” the musical companion to the blockbuster film based on The New York Times bestseller. That same year, the band was tapped to create the theme song to the Netflix Original Series “BoJack Horseman.” Last year, vocalist/keyboardist Hannah Hooper collaborated with Volcom for a Lady Grouplove capsule collection of clothing inspired by her personal style and artwork.

Biffy Clyro // Animal Style Music Video

Biffy Clyro follow 2013’s critically acclaimed #1 double-album ‘Opposites’ with their seventh studio album ‘Ellipsis’ which will be released on July 8th on Warner Bros. Records / 14th Floor Recordings. Pre-orders for the album are now open , with  ‘Wolves of Winter’ and ‘Animal Style’ aew now streaming and available as an instant grat tracks.

As is tradition, writing sessions for the album saw Biffy Clyro – Simon Neil (vocals/guitar) and the Johnston brothers James (bass) and Ben (drums) working in the intimate environment of their practice room. They then headed to Los Angeles for recording sessions with producer Rich Costey (Muse, My Chemical Romance, Sigur Ros).

Citing influences as diverse as Tears For Fears’ ‘Songs From The Big Chair’ album, DJ Arca and Deafheaven, Simon Neil has described ‘Ellipsis’ as “more of a punch to the nose than a big cuddle.” Lyrically, the album’s songs tackle personal issues with the idea of “fighting back” a recurring theme.

Such themes are also apparent in the album’s visceral first single ‘Wolves of Winter’ which captures Biffy Clyro’s famous blend of angular riffs, pummelling rhythms and strident hooks. Says Neil: “’Wolves of Winter’ is about us being wolves on a patch and if you come onto that patch, we’ll tear you limb-from-limb.”

An ‘Ellipsis’ (most commonly depicted as …) indicates a continuation: in this case, Biffy Clyro’s new body of work is an ongoing representation of everything that the band have stood for since first debuting in 2002 with the ‘Blackened Sky’ album.

‘Ellipsis’ will be available digitally and on CD as both standard and deluxe editions. In addition, a variety of vinyl formats will be issued together with a special D2C box set which will be available exclusively from www.biffyclyro.com.

After playing their only show of 2015 shortly before midnight on New Year’s Eve at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Biffy Clyro recently announced that they’ll headline this summer’s Reading (August 28th) and Leeds Festivals (August 26th).

NEIL YOUNG TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM – EARTH – ON JUNE 17TH – VIA REPRISE RECORDS
ALBUM FEATURES A NEW TAKE ON SOME OF YOUNG’S MOST BELOVED SONGS

Neil Young will release a new album, entitled EARTH, on June 17th via Reprise Records. The album features performances of songs from a range of Young’s albums, including last year’s The Monsanto Years, 1990’s Ragged Glory, and 1970’s After the Gold Rush. The audio was captured during Young’s 2015 tour with The Promise of the Real, fronted by Lukas Nelson (vocals/guitar) and Micah Nelson (guitar, vocals) – Willie Nelson’s sons. The tour included Young performing solo and with the band for a full electric show.

A new take on some of Young’s most beloved songs, EARTH features the live recordings, along with added musical overdubs, as well as sounds of the earth, such as city sounds like car horns, sounds of insects, and animal sounds from bears, birds, crickets, bees, horses, cows – creating a very strange, yet beautiful atmosphere.

“Ninety-eight uninterrupted minutes long, EARTH flows as a collection of 13 songs from throughout my life, songs I have written about living here on our planet together,” says Young. “Our animal kingdom is well represented in the audience as well, and the animals, insects, birds, and mammals actually take over the performances of the songs at times.”

Coming out on June 24th are two rare films – the critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic musical comedy Human Highway and the concert feature Rust Never Sleeps- for the first time on DVD and Blu Ray via Reprise Records. Neither film has been available or viewed in years. Human Highway is Young’s 1982 comedy starring Russ Tamblyn, Charlotte Stewart, Dean Stockwell, Dennis Hopper, and Devo, which has been digitally restored for the DVD and Blu Ray release. Coldplay have today revealed the amazing video for Up&Up, the anthemic third single from their current album, A Head Full Of Dreams.

Created by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, the video is a poignant, surrealist montage which alludes to contemporary issues. It also features racehorses galloping on water and a popcorn-spouting volcano.

Up&Up is the closing track from A Head Full Of Dreams, which has reached Number One on iTunes in more than 90 countries, sold more than 3.5 million copies and cemented Coldplay’s position as Spotify’s most-streamed band in the world. The song features a host of guest appearances, including vocals from Beyoncé and legendary Gimme Shelter singer Merry Clayton, as well as a guitar solo from Noel Gallagher.

Having begun with a record-breaking run of dates in Latin America, Coldplay’s A Head Full Of Dreams tour resumes in Nice on May 24. The Staves Release 3-Track EP Sleeping In A Car on May 13th

UK-based band’s 18-City North American tour begins June 3rd

Nonesuch Records releases “Sleeping in a Car”, a three-song EP from the English trio The Staves, on May 13, 2016. The EP is the follow-up to the band’s 2015 Nonesuch debut If I Was, of which the New York Times said “the songs are illuminated from within,” and Magnet praised, “The perfection just goes on and on until you start to wonder: Are they human?” “Sleeping in a Car” was recorded in Eau Claire, WI, at Justin Vernon’s April Base studio and also at Urchin Studios in London. The Watford, England–based sisters—Emily (vocals, keyboards), Jessica (vocals, guitar, keyboards), and Camilla (vocals, guitar, ukulele) Staveley-Taylor—will embark on a 18-city North American tour beginning June 3. Stops include Minneapolis, Washington, Nashville, and New York, among others, along with the Firefly, Newport, and Eaux Claires festivals.

The sisters said of the EP, “These songs reflect the transient nature of travelling. Fleeting moments, like a slide show—reflections in car windows, streetlights passing in rhythm, stolen phone calls, late nights. Feelings of displacement and a disconnect— living in some sort of alternate state of reality. But underneath it all is the feeling of adventure and making your own rules and how dizzying and freeing that can be.”

The Staves released their first full-length album, Dead & Born & Grown, produced by Glyn and Ethan Johns, in 2012. The Sunday Times called it “a debut of stellar beauty and hidden depths.” The band then spent much of the next three years touring the world, including opening spots with the Civil Wars, Ben Howard, and Bon Iver.

During the Bon Iver run, the sisters formed a bond with Vernon, who invited them to visit April Base, where he ultimately produced If I Was. Following its release, The Staves performed at a string of international festivals, including Glastonbury and Eaux Claires, before joining Florence and the Machine’s sold-out UK arena tour. In addition to the North American dates, they play Guy Garvey’s Meltdown Festival in London this summer (June 14).

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM –“THE GETAWAY”– OUT ON JUNE 17TH

FIRST SINGLE —“DARK NECESSITIES”— OUT TODAY VIA DIGITAL RETAILERS

Grammy Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Red Hot Chili Peppers return with a new single — “Dark Necessities” which is released around the world today via all digital retailers.

The track is the first song to be released from the Los Angeles-based band’s upcoming 11th studio album, The Getaway released on June 17th. Fans who pre-order the album will receive an instant download of “Dark Necessities”. The album was produced by Danger Mouse and mixed by Nigel Godrich. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ previous album, I’m With You, was released in 2011 and topped the charts in 18 countries.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at a variety of music festivals around the world this summer, including headlining Tennents Vital festival in Belfast on 25th August.
